CAT EXAM 2009 ONLINE SERVER CRASHED


CAT 2009 kicks off amidst controversies

Students all over India appeared for the most sought after MBA entrance exam- CAT 2009 online today for the first time. While there were numerous speculations in terms of technical/operational feasibility, paper pattern, etc. the CAT exam kicked off with numerous warnings regarding its strict non-disclosure agreement.

There have been reports about technical difficulties arising at various CAT 2009 test centres all across India. CAT 2009 exam was canceled due to server crashes resulting in many students being left in a lurch.  Exams were canceled at the centres in these cities- Bhopal, Lucknow, Pune, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkatta Indore and New Delhi.

The HRD ministry states that all decisions regarding the CAT will be taken solely by the IIMs. In turn, the IIMs have said that the exams of the affected students would be rescheduled. News reports claim that the servers crashed as a result of students registering for the exam at multiple centres. This news is yet to be confirmed.

In all approximately 200 students were affected by these crashes.
