Lakshmi Rai: No item numbers please

Doing an item dance means fast money for fewer days of shooting. Hence, many leading ladies have succumbed to the temptation and done a gig in a couple of movies.

Lakshmi Rai is no exception, but now, after shedding oodles of weight, insists her item dance days are behind her! With her new toned look, Lakshmi Rai has upped the glam quotient, but is now concentrating solely on main roles. She does not want to play second fiddle to another actress and has absolutely refused to consider any single dance numbers.

"I have always played glamorous roles. I'm comfortable with that image. But no matter how glam I get, I would not even think of doing only an item dance in a movie. Rather than dance to a super hit song, I would play the lead in a movie that bombs at the box office," she reported said in a recent interview.

The glamming up part is true the actress has sported a bikini for one of her upcoming movies. As for the item song embargo, well, will she be able to resist a substantial amount? Let's see!!
