Jeff Hardy TNA news - Orlando Jordan, Val Venis & Hulk Hogan!

Tonight's special 3-hour episode of TNA Impact on Spike TV was definitely scheduled to make an impact against the WWE wrestling brand, by stealing away a few of its former stars. The big news was of course that Hulk Hogan made his TNA debut on tonight's program, with WWE having Bret "The Hitman" Hart return to guest host its show as an oppositional move. However, maybe even bigger news was Jeff Hardy's TNA debut, which shocked fans all over the pro-wrestling universe.

In an opening X-Division Steel Asylum match, former WWE Champion Jeff Hardy made a shocking entrance out through the crowd to give wrestler Homicide a beatdown. Jeff Hardy was retired in the WWE by CM Punk, and weeks after his leaving WWE was involved in a drug arrest. Now it appears the former WWE star has signed on with Total Nonstop Action wrestling in some capacity and will be competing.

In addition to Jeff Hardy, another former WWE champion was on hand, the Nature Boy Ric Flair. Flair recently wrestled against Hulk Hogan during Hogan's Hulkamania wrestling tour along with other stars from the WWE. He arrived at TNA in his trademark stretch limo. TNA is almost starting to resemble WWE's former competitor WCW, which was eventually bought up by WWE. However, many of the current stars in TNA have ties to WCW as well.

Two more former WWE wrestlers showed up to debut on TNA Impact as well, with Val Venis and Orlando Jordan. Val Venis dropped by a Strip Poker game held by the Beautiful People, a group of TNA Knockout womens wrestlers, and Orlando Jordan interrupted a backstage interview by the Pope D'Angelo Dinero. Also on hand was Shannon Moore, last seen on WWE's Smackdown frequently partnering up with Jimmy Wang Yang in tag matches. It appears that TNA is looking to seriously challenge WWE's brand of wrestling by bringing in some of the older stars and talent to its show. Most likely, Hulk Hogan was able to use his pull to bring guys like Flair, Jeff Hardy and others over to the new company.

Hulk Hogan's arrival was emphasized but he didn't actually become involved until the final main event match. Both Hogan and his pal Ric Flair were on hand to watch AJ Styles defend the TNA Heavyweight title against Kurt Angle. AJ Styles retained the title. Afterwords, Hogan got on the mic to say AJ & Kurt are the two greatest wrestlers in the world. Meanwhile, backstage Mick Foley, the former man in charge of TNA, showed up to the offices after getting through security. He found Eric Bischoff, a former General Manager and worker with WWE in the office. Bischoff informed Foley he no longer had any power in TNA. From there the big surprise came to close the show as the fans saw a reunion of Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Waltman (aka X-Pac). The trio attacked Mick Foley, while Hulk Hogan watched via the big screen.

TNA is definitely preparing itself for a major fight with the WWE now with Jeff Hardy's TNA debut, the arrival of the Nasty Boys, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan and several other WWE stars to the wrestling brand!
