WATCH Burj Khalifa Fireworks: Dubai Tower Opens To Spectacular Lights Show By Fountain (VIDEO)

The Burj Khalifa formally opened tonight to an elaborate fireworks and lights show at the Dubai Mall.

The celebration of the world's tallest tower included the nearby Dubai Fountain, which sprayed water hundreds of meters into the air amidst bright lights.

The Burj Khalifa itself had fireworks explode on all sides of the structure, creating a marvelous display in Dubai this evening, Jan. 4, 2010.

Long called the Burj Dubai, the structure was renamed after UAE President Khalifa Bin Zayed in a surprise move.
