Undercover Boss on CBS aired Sunday night, featuring White Castle Owner and Executive Board Member Dave Rife, the great great grandson of the founder. Undercover Boss is an hour-long program that saw one of the company's owners go undercover at various White Castle restaurants and factories to see what needed improving in the 88 year old company. Dave Rife got more than he bargained for on this CBS episode of Undercover Boss. Anyone who's ever eaten these burgers knows that there isn't satisfaction at stopping at one, two, three, four, five, six, and more. That's the good or bad, depending on your perspective.
Undercover Boss Featured White Castle Boss Dave Rife Getting His Buns Crushed
The head honcho got started in a restaurant in Hamilton, Ohio, where he found out that there are too many employees and managers on the shift, which caused confusion among the staff. Donna survived a heart attack and her husband is on disability, which touched the owner's heart. Dave Rife went to a bakery in Wisconsin where he had tons of trouble bagging the White Castle buns, destroying 4800 of them, all whose fate would mean being pig slop. In Covington, Kentucky, the boss learned that security cameras at one of their 24/7 restaurants are watching the employees' every move. Tina, an Assistant General Manager, confided with him that she's afraid of getting fired, especially if the strict procedures for making the food aren't followed. The big guy found out just how hard night shift working is, as he bungled drive-thru orders. He interacted with Joe though, one of the friendlier and real competent employees who helps that shift run well.
In Chicago, 17 year old Jose shared with White Castle's boss some of his personal sauce creation that he puts on his White Castle burgers during break time, which Rife found to be very tasty during Undercover Boss. But the fast food head honcho found some employee-management discord at the frozen foods factory in Covington, Kentucky between manager Brenda and employee Vicky over the lack of perceived help from the bosses when work backs up.
