THE WHOLE nation is all set to celebrate the festival of sacrifice, Bakrid 2009 on November 28. The Bakri Id is also known as Idul Azha. The holy festival of Bakriid which is celebrated by Muslims, falls on the 10th day of Dhu'l Hijja month.On this day, people sacrifice goat as offering to God (Alla). According to the holy book Quran, the Bakri Id is a tribute paid to Abraham's wish to sacrifice his only son Ishmael.

In some parts of the country, people also sacrifice camles and buffaloes. The sacrifice is distributed in 3 parts: one is for housedold use, the second one for family and lastly the third one is for the poor people.

Each year, as Bakri Id arrives, even the high price of goats do not dampen the spirit of celebrations and the enthusiasm among the muslims.
